Recycling is a habit that we have had in my family for many years and it is in this instance where many questions arise.

It was with great sadness and disappointment that I saw how much of the materials that were used daily at home were not recyclable and ended up in the landfill. Today these same ones are responsible for the ecological damage of the planet.

For this reason, I began a search for more natural or less polluting alternatives to products of plastic origin.

It was in this search that I discovered an incredible product; a wrapper to preserve food, an alternative to plastic film, 100% natural, washable, reusable and compostable. It was love at first sight! I couldn't believe that such a thing existed! It was the solution to one of my many concerns. The only problem was that this marvel did not exist in Chile.

But I did not give up, and for this reason, I decided to create a 100% Chilean one. Idea that I liked even more!.

This is how this beautiful project called BEENAT® was born in 2017.

After more than 4 years of work and studies, three CORFO funds and thanks to a wonderful team, I am proud to say that we have achieved it. It has not been easy!. But when this type of project is moved by a greater purpose, energy flows and things happen in a magical way, but this is not over yet! We continue working to be a contribution to the world and to society.

BEENAT® was born in response to a question that more and more people ask ourselves every day: How to store our food in a healthy way by eliminating single-use plastic from our kitchens?

BEENAT is a wrapper that protects and cares for food from air and humidity, allowing it to breathe. They are durable, versatile and reusable, handmade in Chile with 100% natural cotton, tree resin, organic beeswax and organic coconut oil, which polymerized to form a transparent, hard and waterproof finish.

The natural antibacterial and antiseptic properties of this wax help keep food fresher for longer, preventing food waste and allowing the wrap to be used over and over again.

Food can be wrapped or covered using the heat from your hands to seal the wrappers around the item and as it cools the wrapper will hold its shape.
